Microphone
It's not what you say that makes you powerful...it's the power of the microphone that makes you heard. I can say whatever I want but I won't be heard in the crowd without the power of the microphone. Thank you Garrison Keillor for making me realize this.

Pasting, glue. sticky note. you
How does paste differ from glue? What's on a sticky note? Which one are you? Are you paste, glue or the fleeting hold of a sticky note in a sweater factory?
Paste was that smelly stuff we used in grade school. It was white, had a funky odor and some kids really enjoyed the flavor (from what I'm told). It would hold paper together, but that was about all...and you had to be cautious about the amount used. Too much and it would never dry. Too little and it would act like it was going to hold but alas, you'd come back to find the mustache of your paper traffic cop sans mustache.
Glue was bottled in clever clear plastic bottles so we could mesmerise ourselves watching it glide ever, so slowly to the ribbed nozzle. How many an hour was wasted in my childhood coating my fingers with good ole' Elmer and then meticulously peeling that white snake skin away to see just how long I could I could get that strand? Some of the bottles are still labeled with the important title of "White School Glue". Now I ask you, do you think there are bottles marked, "White Bar Glue", or "White Church Glue", "White Trash Glue"? I guess you could make this a racial issue and ask if there is glue labeled for people of every race and creed? Where is the Chinese glue, gay glue, love glue? Same glue, different bottles.
Sticky notes are such a mind blowing thing. Does anybody erase them, re stack them and reuse them? People joke that they could wall paper their homes in sticky notes. But I wonder, could they really? Wouldn't they lose their stick over time? What if you smoke? Would the tar and nicotine coating your walls make your sticky note wall paper fail? Imagine perfecting your masterpiece, going to bed and wake only to find your Michelangelo snowing down on your head. I imagine I could write all these thoughts down on my sticky notes, but I get frustrated that I can't use the other side. Just feels wasteful. Maybe they should invent sticky notes with a secure strip over a glue edge on the other side - similar to a maxi pad strip has....then I could "activate" the glue when I wanted to. Save it for that special occasion. In school you could use it to order kids to "kick me" or I could profess my feelings :Me + U 4ever". Mark one side "OPEN" and the other side "CLOSED". Use as needed. So many applications, so little time.

gel blend mesh
Why do certain people "gel"? Why do birds of a feather flock together? What makes you like me and me like you? Why do we desire friendship? It's always interesting to me to find couples that don't need friends outside of their relationship. They share just each others' interest for the other and need no other personalities to add to their stimuli. Of course there are many types of couples....couples where one is gregarious and the other member isn't....so one half has a zillion friends and the other is silently begging to leave the party and get back to that sofa, that solitude, that cozy of the you and me...while the other half is encased in joy with no end until of course, it's time to end the festivity and go home. Some couples blend so well they begin to look like one another. And others mesh so seamlessly, you can't tell where one part of the couple begins nor where the other takes over.
I imagine there is a way to "sort" people and categorize them into matching pairs or groups. A new app for Face book to tell you if you should befriend Johanna James because she likes cool jazz just like you do. If I like cool jazz and you do too, will that be enough for us to enjoy each others' company? If so, for how long? And in what capacity? These sorting tools must be what makes dating websites and services successful. How do they decide what to ask on that questionnaire? I like salt on my pizza, socks on in bed, white toothpaste and sunny afternoons. I doubt these are listed there and if you like pina~ coladas, well, you get the idea.

Creations or electrical pulses?
Are ideas the product of years of experience, stimuli and personality traits pushed together? OR are ideas the result of electrical pulses in the brain? Do the rhythms of the planet control our very core? Am I prone to be more creative when "MADE" to be or do I have a better chance at discovering my epiphany by chance? If we are controlled by the tide, the moon, the stars, then can we 'schedule' creativity? Or should a person simply 'create' when the mood strikes?

Calling all writers...
Does every person dream of writing the next "BIG" novel that will storm the public, fly off shelves and make a million? Am I only average to dream that dream of creating a super novel? eh, who knows....or cares....story ideas come and go and usually after I've revisited and reviewed the idea I discount myself and rip up the creation. Is that bad?

Satisfaction
My mind is at ease after receiving a phone call a few minutes ago from the instructor. She said my background check came back squeeky clean and that my quitting the corp in mid year in 08' will not affect my being hired by the corp as a driver. I'm relieved to know that all my hard work will not have been in vain.
